GARDEN GROVE, CA , July 8 - In furnishing its new offices and showroom here modular office furniture systems manufacture MAiSPACE demonstrates how smart planning can turn a 3,500 square foot "warm shell" into a stunning display of its design capabilities at a consumer cost of only $19 per square foot.

"We needed a West Coast presence to give our burgeoning customer base here the same attention as those on the East Coast," says Mark Bassil, co-founder and vice president of the Mt. Olive, NJ, based company. "The bulk of our new 37,000 square foot Garden Grove facility serves as our regional distribution center and showroom. The remaining workspace provided an opportunity to showcase just what the MAiSPACE design can achieve in a functioning office."

MAiSPACE is teamed with Final Assembly, a warehousing and installation firm, to provide customers with regional full service capabilities, lower lead times and the ability to experience the quality of MAiSPACE products first hand, Bassil says. "We took Final Assembly's existing 1,500 sq. ft of office space and expanded it to a "warm shell" of 3,500 square feet while retaining 3 existing private offices," he says. "The rest of the space includes 3 floor-to-ceiling workstations, 13 various size partial height workstations, plus seating, tables, conference room and reception station, which highlights the versatility of the product.

The floor plan design includes 2 semi private offices without doors, one private office, 6 workstations at 66" - 84" high, 3 at 66" high, 4 at 48" - 66" high, 2 at 48" high, a reception station and conference room, plus a mix of task and managements seating. The office LAN is based on the MAiSPACE plug and play voice, data and power cabling system.

"We used a variety of warm and vibrant colors through Grade 2 and 4 fabrics (including COM from DesignTex and Luna Textiles), metallic paints, banded, frosted and clear glass, Coverseal tiles and work surfaces, and metal trims," Bassil says. "As a result MAiSPACE was able to convey a contemporary and sophisticated look that is appealing to an upscale yet budget conscious consumer. And all at a remarkable consumer cost of only $19 per square foot."
